How does iCloud sync work?

iCloud keeps your Music Tracker library consistent across iPhone, iPad and Mac using your Apple ID. The sync is private and handled by iCloud Drive, not by third party servers.

Requirements checklist

  • Same Apple ID on all devices
  • iCloud Drive enabled
  • iCloud allowed for Music Tracker
  • Stable internet connection
  • Enough free space on device and in iCloud

Enable iCloud on iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap your name
  3. Tap iCloud
  4. Make sure iCloud Drive is On
  5. Tap Apps using iCloud, then find Music Tracker and set it to On

Enable iCloud on Mac

  1. Open System Settings
  2. Click your name
  3. Click iCloud
  4. Turn on iCloud Drive
  5. Click iCloud Drive Options and ensure Music Tracker is enabled

What to expect

  • First sync can take a while if the library is large or the network is slow
  • Changes appear on other devices shortly after iCloud finishes updating
  • If you add or edit an album and do not see it elsewhere, give iCloud a few minutes

Quick refresh tips

  • Open Music Tracker and leave it in the foreground for a minute
  • Keep the device unlocked and connected to Wi Fi
  • Avoid Low Power Mode during the first big sync

Good practices

  • Create a manual backup before major changes
  • Keep devices on a charger and Wi Fi during large updates
  • Do not sign out of iCloud while a sync is in progress
